Abstract:
Provided is a movement assistance device with which it is possible to easily realize a stepwise change in assistance force such that the assistance force is reduced during walking and is increased during loading/unloading. This movement assistance device, which is worn by a user, comprises an upper-limb frame, a base part to which the upper-limb frame is securely connected, a lower-limb frame provided so as to be capable of turning relative to the base part, and a biasing force generation unit that is provided to the base part and that generates biasing force corresponding to the angle of motion of the lower-limb frame relative to the upper-limb frame. The biasing force generation unit is configured such that, in the relationship between the angle of motion and the biasing force, the rate of change in the biasing force relative to the angle of motion changes.
