Abstract:
Provided is a binder composition for a negative electrode, which has good binding characteristics between an active material and a metal foil, and has excellent reduction resistance. The binder composition for a negative electrode contains a graft copolymer in which a monomer having (meth)acrylonitrile as a main component is grafted to polyvinyl alcohol, wherein the average degree of polymerization of the polyvinyl alcohol is 300 to 3,000, the degree of saponification is 70 to 100 mol%, the amount of polyvinyl alcohol in the graft copolymer is 10 to 90 mass%, and the amount of poly(meth)acrylonitrile is 90 to 10 mass%.
