Abstract:
A binder composition for nonaqueous secondary battery electrodes according to the present invention contains a particulate polymer; and the particulate polymer contains from 5% by mass to 65% by mass of an aromatic vinyl monomer unit, from 30% by mass to 90% by mass of an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer unit and from 2% by mass to 9% by mass of a carboxyl group-containing monomer unit. The ratio (Da/Db) of the average particle diameter Da of the particulate polymer as determined by a dynamic light scattering method to the volume average particle diameter Db of the particulate polymer as determined by a laser diffraction/scattering method is 1.05 to 2.0. The volume average particle diameter Db of the particulate polymer is 100 nm to 170 nm.
