Abstract:
The present invention provides a binder for a lithium ion secondary battery electrode that has good adhesive properties and a low degree of swelling with respect to an electrolytic solution. The binder for a lithium ion secondary battery electrode that is used comprises a polyvinyl acetal resin (A) containing the structural units that are indicated by chemical formulas (1)-(3). In chemical formula 2, R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms. In chemical formula 3, R2 is a functional group containing an ethylenically unsaturated bond.
