Abstract:
The present invention relates to a biomarker for predicting the likelihood of developing gastric cancer and use thereof, in which, by measuring an mRNA level of any at least one gene selected from the group consisting of CDK1, KDF1, CREB5, and AKT2 or a level of a protein expressed therefrom, the likelihood of developing gastric cancer including metachronous gastric cancer can be predicted. A composition for predicting the likelihood of developing gastric cancer, according to the present invention, not only has high accuracy in predicting the onset of gastric cancer, but also enables the prediction of gastric cancer through a one-time measurement method by using multi-plex PCR with a single tissue sample, and thus is highly usable. In addition, since a quantitative method for predicting the onset of gastric cancer as well as metachronous gastric cancer includes a method for quantifying basal gastritis, provided is a method for predicting the risk of developing gastric cancer in normal individuals with a family history of gastric cancer or risk factors. Moreover, there is the effect of predicting prognoses of patients by predicting the onset of metachronous gastric cancer in early gastric cancer patients who are treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection.
