Abstract:
Disclosed are: a genetic signature useful for the diagnosis of cancer, particularly lung cancer; a method for diagnosing cancer utilizing the signature; a test method for predicting the prognosis of cancer, which comprises a step of determining the expression level of a prognosis-related gene, i.e., the expression level of a transcript of the gene or a translation product of the gene, in a biological sample collected from a cancer patient, wherein the gene is selected from 277 genes included in a prognosis-related genetic signature (1) (the prognosis-related genetic signature (1) is as defined in the description); and a diagnostic agent for predicting the prognosis of cancer, which comprises a reagent for detecting the expression level of the prognosis-related gene.
