Abstract:
A measurement instrument according to the present invention, which measures biometric information of a subject, determines whether or not the measurement instrument is worn on the subject, and causes a light emitting means to emit light in a prescribed light emission pattern upon determining that the measurement instrument is worn on the subject. An authentication instrument according to the present invention, which communicates with the measurement instrument, photographs the subject and the prescribed light emission pattern at the same time, and authenticates the subject and the measurement instrument on the basis of the subject and the prescribed light emission pattern that have been photographed. Upon determining that the measurement instrument has been taken off from the subject during the measurement of the biometric information of the subject, the measurement instrument, triggered by the measurement instrument again being worn on the subject, again executes the light emission by the light emitting means. The authentication instrument again executes the authentication when notified from the measurement instrument that the measurement instrument has been taken off from the subject.
