Abstract:
Blade edge replacing type cutting tip (1) characterized by having base material
(8) and a coating layer wherein the coating layer includes inner and outer layers,
and wherein each of the inner layers consists of a specified layer containing
at least one element selected from the group consisting of periodic table Group
IVa elements, Group Va elements, Group VIa elements, Al and Si, and wherein the
outer layer consists of an alumina layer or alumina-containing layer and at sites
associated with cutting, when the average thickness thereof on the side of flank
(3) is referred to as A μm and the average thickness on the side of rake face
(2) as B μm, A/B≤0.95.
