Abstract:

A stepwise control signal (S1) generated from a control signal generator (1) and a triangular carrier signal (S2) generated from a carrier generator (2) are compared by a digital comparator (3) and its comparison signal (S3) is provided to an edge detector (20). A top bottom signal (S10) generated from a top bottom signal generator (10) is also provided to the edge detector (20). The edge detector (20) has an edge detection function for generating an edge detection signal (S20) by detecting variation in the comparison signal (S3) and outputs the edge detection signal (S20) by forbidding the edge detection function with the edge detection signal (S20) and releasing the edge detection function with the top bottom signal (S10). Based on the comparison signal (S3), the edge detection signal (S20) and the top bottom signal (S10), a PWM signal (S30) is outputted from a pulse generator (30).
