Provided is a blind nut which has a small height after being fastened, has a small outer diameter, and is lightweight. A blind nut (10) which is to be mounted in a mounting hole (43) in a member (41) to which the blind nut (10) is to be mounted is provided with: a body member (20) formed from a plastically deformable soft material; and a nut member (30) formed from a hard material. The body member has: a cylindrical first cylindrical section (21); a hexagonal cylindrical second cylindrical section (22) adjacent to the first cylindrical section; and a flange (24) adjacent to the second cylindrical section, and center holes (25, 26) are formed in the body member. The nut member has a short circular cylindrical nut base section (31) and has nut circular cylinder sections (32, 33) adjacent to the nut base section and having smaller outer diameters than the nut base section. A through-hole (35) having a female thread (37) formed along the entire length thereof is formed in the nut member. The nut circular cylinder sections of the nut member are disposed inside the first cylindrical section and the second cylindrical section, which belong to the body member. The lower end of a body cylindrical section is in contact with and welded to the stepped section (31a) of the nut base section.
