A transfer means (20) for transferring a board material (10) to a taking out position in a standing state, and case holding means (13, 25) for holding a case (1) at a lower part of the taking out position are provided. Then, a board material transfer means is composed of a glass inserting hand (22) or the like, which has a receiving section (39) for receiving a lower end plane of the board material (10) from a lower side, takes out the board material (10) at the taking out position by holding the board material on the receiving section (39), and goes down to transfer the board material (10) into a groove of the case (1). At least while the board material (10) is being transferred into the groove of the case (1) from the taking out position, the board material (10) is kept in the standing state with no contact by a board material holding means (23) which blows a gas on one surface and the other surface of the board material (10).
