Abstract:
The present invention achieves high-accuracy multimodal biometric authentication of a plurality of body parts while suppressing postural fluctuation when the plurality of body parts are photographed and suppressing the computational complexity of processing a plurality of biometric features. According to the present invention, an authentication system includes a storage device that stores feature quantities for a plurality of body parts in association with users, a photography device that photographs body parts, and an authentication processing device that performs biometric authentication on the basis of images inputted from the photography device. The photography device photographs a first body part of a first user during a first period and photographs a second body part and a third body part of the first user during a second period that is different from the first period. The authentication processing device calculates a first feature quantity from the first body part photographed during the first period, respectively calculates a second feature quantity and a third feature quantity from the second body part and the third body part photographed during the second period, and compares with the feature quantities for the body parts of each user stored at the storage device.
