A motive power transmission mechanism management device 3 is for managing a motive power transmission mechanism that transmits, to a load-side device 70, motive power of an electric motor 4 in an industrial apparatus system 1 in which a plurality of industrial apparatuses are operated in cooperation with each other. The motive power transmission mechanism management device is provided with: a motion control unit that controls the electric motor to cause the motive power transmission mechanism to execute a predetermined motion; a state management unit that executes a first management program and manages the state of the motive power transmission mechanism on the basis of input information inputted from the electric motor; an external communication unit that communicates with an external device so as to acquire a second management program according to a type of the motive power transmission mechanism; and an update unit that replaces the second management program with the first management program and performs update so as to allow the state management unit to execute the first program. This configuration makes it possible to easily realize addition or change of a software function for managing the motive power transmission mechanism and data related to the function.
