Abstract:
[Problem] To reliably align and match side curled paper by means of a simple structure, and being able to bind a book from the result as a paper bundle. [Solution] A left-right pair of side fences (801, 802) have a c-shaped cross section for aligning the left-right edges of the paper, and have: a side wall (801a, 802a) that aligns the side surfaces of the ends of the paper; a top wall (801b, 802b) that aligns the top surface of the ends of the paper; and a bottom wall (801c, 802c) that aligns the bottom surface of the ends of the paper. A front-side protrusion (801b1, 802b1) and a back-side protrusion (801b2, 802b2) in the direction of conveyance are formed at one wall of either the top wall or the bottom wall, and a center protrusion (801c1, 802c1) in the direction of conveyance is formed at the other wall of either the top wall or the bottom wall. An alignment groove (803, 804) is formed from the front-side protrusion (801b1, 802b1) and back-side protrusion (801b2, 802b2) of one wall and the center protrusion (801c1, 802c1) of the other wall, and the alignment groove (803, 804) can hold the left and right ends of the paper and guides the ends when the paper is being aligned and matched.
