A boot according to the present invention comprises: a bellows section 2 that extends along an axis X direction, is a cylindrical shape capable of contracting and expanding in the axis X direction, and has bellows section side peak sections 21 and bellows section side valley sections 22 in an alternating manner along the axis X direction; and an extension section 3 that neighbors and is connected to the bellows section 2 in the axis X direction, and is provided neighboring one end 1a and/or the other end 1b in the axis X direction of the boot 1. The extension section 3 is formed such that the outer diameter OD1 of an end section of the extension section 3, said end section being on the opposite side in the axis X direction from the side that is connected to the bellows section 2, is smaller than the inner diameters ID of the bellows section side valley sections 22 of the bellows section 2. The extension section 3 is configured such that at least a portion of the extension section 3 is displaced to an interior section of the bellows section 2 when the boot 1 is compressed in the axis X direction. Due to this configuration, a boot that has a short boot length when compressed and suppresses an increase in the restoring force generated by compression can be provided.
