Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a brain function improving agent for preventing the onset of, treating, and/or ameliorating cognitive function impairment and depressive symptoms in central nervous system diseases, the agent being characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, at least one among 5-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-γ-valerolactone represented by formula (I), a salt of said compound, and a conjugate of said compound.
