Abstract:
A braking device 20 comprises: a first braking unit 50 that uses brake fluid supplied from a reservoir tank 24 to adjust the fluid pressure in a wheel cylinder 11, thereby applying a braking force to a wheel; and a braking control device 100 that controls the first braking unit 50. The first braking unit 50 is provided with an electric cylinder 51 that is capable of supplying the brake fluid to the wheel cylinder 11 in accordance with the driving of an electric motor 513. The first braking unit 50 is provided with a release flow path 56 that is configured to connect the reservoir tank 24 and a liquid chamber with an output port 516 of the electric cylinder 51 open, and a release valve 57 that is a normally-closed electromagnetic valve which is disposed on the release flow path 56. The braking control device 100 performs a pressure release process for opening the release valve 57 when an anomaly has occurred in the electric cylinder 51.
