Abstract:
[Problem] To efficiently distribute a plurality of imaging elements within a limited space in a structure for capturing an image of an object using the plurality of imaging elements. [Solution] This branching optical system is provided with: a first branching optical system for separating, from incident light, first light belonging to a predetermined wavelength band in a first direction which is a plane direction of a plane including an optical axis corresponding to a normal direction to a light incident surface on which the incident light is incident; and a second branching optical system which is provided at the next stage of the first branching optical system and separates, from second light obtained by separating the first light from the incident light, third light which is part of the second light in a second direction which intersects the plane.
