Abstract:
This bread loaf cutting device comprises a body (1) in which a blade drive unit (12) is pivotally mounted to a base (11), and a bread base (2) that is attached to or detached from the body (1). The blade drive unit (12) is provided with a saw-like blade (13) that reciprocates. The blade drive unit (12) has a clearing recess (14) formed between support portions thereof supporting the ends of the blade (13), to avoid interference with a bread loaf (B). When stored, the blade drive unit (12) is folded over the base (11), and then the bread base (2) is placed over the body (1) so as to be fitted therewith as a cover. When in use, the body (1) and the bread base (2) are separated, the bread base (2) is oriented in a direction transverse to the blade (13), the bread base (2) is connected to the base (11), the bread loaf (B) is placed on the bread base (2), and the blade drive unit (12) is swung downward from the upright position while the blade (13) reciprocates to slice the bread loaf (B).
