Abstract:
A fragrance dispensing device has a transparent candle follower (1) with an annular shoulder portion (3) for sitting on a shoulder of the candle to descend under gravity during consumption thereof and formed at an upper end with a wax receiving bowl (7) having inner (9) and outer (8) walls forming inner (10) and outer (11) compartments receiving melted wax (12) and volatile fragrance (13), respectively. The inner wall portion (9) can be annular, extending substantially concentrically within the outer wall (8) or, there can be two, semicircular, inner wall portions formed on diametrically opposite sides of the outer wall portion defining therewith respective fragrance oil containing compartments. Alternatively, the fragrance reservoir can be formed separately from the bowl and supported thereby. A wick receiving aperture (4) has an optical face providing an aperture for transmitting light from the candle flame by internal reflection down a skirt of the candle follower to illuminate an area below the candle.
