Title:
CARS MICROSCOPE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/061147
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Conventional microscopes that measure the distribution of species have difficulty in measuring the refractive index distribution of a sample and are limited in the information that can be obtained. A CARS microscope according to the present invention is configured to comprise: a first light splitting means (102) for splitting light from a light source (110) into a first pump beam and a second pump beam; a Stokes light source (104) into which the second pump beam is input and that outputs a Stokes beam; a combining means (108) for generating a combined beam by combining the first pump beam and the Stokes beam; a first focusing means (109) for focusing the combined beam into a sample (110); a first detector (113) for detecting CARS light that has a wavelength different from the combined beam and that is generated from within the sample; a second light splitting means (107) for branching, as a reference beam, a portion of a beam of at least one of the second pump beam and the Stokes beam; a second combining means (017) for generating interfering light by combining the beam from within the sample and the reference beam; and a second detector for detecting the interfering light.
