Abstract:
A catheter assembly (10A) includes a catheter (12), a hollow catheter hub (14) that is fixed to a base end portion of the catheter (12), and a valve mechanism (20) that is disposed inside the catheter hub (14). The valve mechanism (20) includes a valve body (26) having an openable and closeable valve part (27), and a seal member (28) at least a portion of which is disposed between an inner peripheral surface of the catheter hub (14) and an outer peripheral surface of the valve body (26), and which passes air but blocks liquid.
