Abstract:
Provided is a catheter the stiffness, flexibility, and kink resistance of which can be easily adjusted, the catheter thus having increased flexibility and improved kink resistance. The subject of the present invention comprises a braid 8 and an outer layer 6b covering the braid 8. The braid 8 is composed of: an inner layer 6a formed from a hollow tubular body having a lumen 3s; a first wire (9a-9n) covering the inner layer 6a and wound in a first direction; and a second wire (7a-7f, 5aa-5bf) wound in a direction intersecting with the first direction. In particular, the second wire (7a-7f, 5aa-5bf) is composed of a combination of a third wire (7a-7f) having a predetermined width W1 and multiple fourth wires (5aa-5bf) having a width W2 smaller than the width W1 of the third wire (7a-7f).
