Abstract:

A cellular mobile communication system and method for using a heterogeneous wireless network are provided. The system includes an access point of a wireless LAN (Local Area Network) for providing a wireless resource using a wireless LAN-dedicated frequency; a base station of a cellular network connected with the access point through a wired network and setting up a first tunnel; and a terminal for setting up a second tunnel with the access point using the wireless resource provided from the access point, and connecting to the cellular network through the first and second tunnels to perform call processing.
