Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of improving the properties of a ceramic composition. A ceramic composition comprising alumina (Al2O3) and tungsten carbide (WC), said ceramic composition being characterized in that an atomic layer formed by at least one element selected from transition metals belonging to Groups 4 to 6 on the periodic table, yttrium (Y), scandium (Sc) and lanthanoid elements exists at the grain boundary between alumina (Al2O3) crystal grains and tungsten carbide (WC) crystal grains.
