Abstract:
Input of various characters and symbols can be performed with high efficiency
while preventing other persons from knowing the input by operating even a small
number of keys. Grouping means (11) allocates a number of m digits expressed
by n-nary notation to each input candidate character in a one-to-one
correspondence, and groups the input candidate characters into ngroups
for each of the m places. Group display means (12) allows a display unit
(14) to display each group of the input candidate characters classified by each
place. An input unit (15) allows the user to operate one of n selection
keys corresponding to the respective groups and outputs information representing
that which selection key is operated (information representing the operated
selection key) to character constituting means (13). The character constituting
means (13) determines a character on the basis of the information inputted through
the input unit (15).
