Abstract:
A quadrupole mass spectroscope. A table (21) where a plurality of selectable
scanning rates are made to correspond to appropriate DC bias voltages is prestored
in an automatic regulation data storage section (20). During automatic regulation,
a control section (10) determines a DC bias voltage corresponding to each scan
rate with reference to the table (21), fixes the output from an ion drawing voltage
generating section (13) to the DC bias voltage, and finds out voltage conditions
for maximizing a detection signal while varying other voltages applied to an
ion optical system (2), for example. Optimal conditions are found for every scan
rate and recorded in automatic regulation result data (22). When a target sample
is analyzed, a DC bias voltage corresponding to a scan rate specified by an operator
is determined from the table (21), optimal conditions are determined from the
automatic regulation result data (22) and scan measurement conditions are determined
based on them. Consequently, degradation in detection sensitivity can be suppressed
when the scan rate of scan measurement is increased.
