Abstract:
Chlorinated vinyl chloride resin compositions which have high heat resistance and have high tensile strength at high temperatures, while retaining intact low-temperature impact resistance. These are obtained by incorporating a specific combination of reinforcements known as impact modifiers. One of the compositions comprises 100 parts by weight of a chlorinated vinyl chloride resin having a combined chlorine content of 62 to 70 wt.% and, incorporated therein, either (1) 1 to 12 parts by weight of an ABS resin and 1 to 5 parts by weight of an acrylic modifier resin or (2) 1 to 12 parts by weight of an ABS resin and 2 to 9 parts by weight of an MBS resin. The other composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a chlorinated vinyl chloride resin having a combined chlorine content of 62 to 70 wt.% and, incorporated therein, 1 to 12 parts by weight of a specific ABS resin and 2 to 9 parts by weight of a specific MBS resin. The chlorinated vinyl chloride resin compositions may suitably further contain an impact modifier, processing aid, stabilizer, lubricant, filler, pigment, etc. The resultant compositions are usable in producing moldings such as a pipe, joint, sheet, and plate or in sizing.
