Abstract:
The present invention provides a cleaning device capable of controlling the degree of cleaning in accordance with the degree of extraneous matter on a transparent body and also provides an image capture unit provided with such a cleaning device. The cleaning device according to the present invention has a structure provided with: a housing (1) holding an image capture section (5); a protection cover (2) located in the visual field of the image capture section (5); a vibration section (12) for vibrating the protection cover (2); a control section (20) for controlling the vibration section (12); a monitor section (30) for detecting an electric characteristic value related to the vibration of the vibration section (12); and a storage section (40) for storing judgement criterions for judging, in the control section (20), the electric characteristic value detected by the monitor section (30). The control section (20) judges the electric characteristic value on the basis of a plurality of judgement criterions stored in the storage section (40) and then controls the vibration section (12) in accordance with the judgement, thereby cleaning the surface of the transparent body.
