Abstract:
Provided are a cleaning device which is compact and has simple structure and a method for cleaning the top of a coke oven, the device and method being capable of appropriately and efficiently cleaning a coke oven top with obstruction and capable of carrying out cleaning regardless of whether or not coal charging cars are operating. The cleaning device of the present invention travels on a road surface and gathers accumulated substances having accumulated on the road surface, the cleaning device comprising: a traveling carriage 1; a gathering means 2 that is provided on the front side of the traveling carriage 1 and gathers accumulated substances having accumulated on the road surface in front of the traveling carriage 1 as the traveling carriage 1 moves forward; and a scraping means 3 that is provided in the traveling carriage 1 and scrapes, to the front of the traveling carriage 1, accumulated substances having accumulated on the road surface on the side of the traveling carriage 1.
