Abstract:

A device that manufactures a cleaning web member (1) by cutting a continuous web member (1a) intermittently in the conveyance direction at a product pitch, the continuous web member having a base material sheet (2a) that is continuous in the conveyance direction and fiber bundles (5a) that are layered and fixed on the base material sheet (2a) with the direction of the fibers oriented in the conveyance direction. The device comprises: an intermittent conveyance mechanism (65) that intermittently conveys the continuous web member (1a) in the conveyance direction; a cutter mechanism (60), which is provided downstream of the intermittent conveyance mechanism (65) in the conveyance direction, and which forms the downstream end (1ae) as a cleaning web member (1) by cutting and separating the downstream end (1ae) from the continuous web member (1a) while the conveyance of the continuous web member (1a) is stopped; a sensor (67) that measures positional deviation (∆T) from the target stopping position (PM, PMv) for the stopping position of a specified part of the continuous web member (1a) when conveyance is stopped, the measurement position (P67) being a position upstream of the intermittent conveyance mechanism (65) in the conveyance direction; and a control unit (68) that controls the conveyance distance for the intermittent conveyance of the intermittent conveyance mechanism (65) based on the positional deviation (∆T) information output from the sensor (67). The sensor (67) comprises: an image pickup unit (67a), which images one surface of the continuous web member (1a) while conveyance of the continuous web member (1a) is stopped with the measurement position (P67) as the imaging position and which generates the planar image data for the one surface as planar image data; and a positional deviation-calculating unit (67c) that calculates the positional deviation (∆T) based on the position of the imaged portion of the specified part in the planar image of the planar image data.
