Abstract:
Provided are a closing device for a sliding door, capable of completely closing the sliding door, and a pressing device for a sliding door, enabling the sliding door to be opened and closed with a small force. A closing device for a sliding door suspended and supported by a door wheel and having self-closing means for closing the door automatically, where, in the closed position of the sliding door, an edge section of a door surface of the sliding door is placed so as to face a door frame. The closing device has speed regulating means for regulating the closing speed of the sliding door and pressing means for pressing, at the closed position of the sliding door, the edge section of the door against the door frame. Up to a predetermined position before the closed position, the speed regulating means reduces the closing speed of the door to a level lower than the closing speed by the self-closing means, and from the predetermined position toward the closed position, the speed regulating means increases the speed of the door.
