Abstract:
Provided is a clupak paper with excellent elongation characteristics and strength characteristics so that when the clupak paper is processed into bags, the occurrence of bag rupture is small. Clupak paper manufactured in a gap former paper machine equipped with a clupack device so that the tensile energy absorption index in the longitudinal direction as prescribed in JIS P8113 is at least 2.5 J/g and the tensile energy absorption index in the transverse direction will be at least 1.0 J/g. The strength characteristics in the longitudinal and transverse directions, particularly in the longitudinal direction, are excellent.
