Abstract:
Provided is a clutch device in which a diaphragm spring presses on a pressure plate, thereby pressing a friction disc into contact with a rotating section, wherein it is easy to retain a half-clutch state. The clutch device is provided with: a diaphragm spring having a plurality of leaf springs disposed along a periphery centered on an axis of rotation, where a distal end of the leaf springs that protrudes out toward the axis of rotation constitutes a free end; a pressure plate that is urged by the diaphragm spring, thereby pressing a friction disc into contact with a rotating section; and a release device that displaces the free end-side of the leaf springs in one direction along the axis of rotation, thereby deforming the diaphragm spring, reducing the urging force applied onto the pressure plate from the diaphragm spring, and cutting off a driving force to the friction disc from the rotating section, the clutch device connecting/disconnecting the driving force from the rotating section to the friction disc. A ratio Z (= Y/X) of the deformation Y of the leaf spring in a half-clutch state as compared to a clutch transmission state to the deformation X of the leaf spring in a clutch disengagement state as compared to the clutch transmission state is greater for some of the plurality of leaf springs than for the remainder of the plurality of leaf springs.
