Abstract:
A coding device (100) is provided with a circuit and a memory connected to the circuit. The circuit, in operation: determines whether the image format of a moving image is a format having a color-difference component (S2001); if it is determined that the image format is a format having a color-difference component (Yes at S2001), describes, in a header region of a stream, a signal indicating whether application of a JCCR process is permitted (S2002); (i) permits the application of the JCCR process and codes the moving image (S2004), or (ii) codes the moving image without permitting application of the JCCR process (S2005); if it is determined that the image format is a format having no color-difference component (No at S2001), does not describe in the header region of the stream the signal indicating whether application of a JCCR process is permitted (S2006), and codes the moving image without permitting the application of the JCCR process (S2007).
