Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to miniaturize a coil component formed by embedding a coil core in an insulation layer. A coil component 1a comprises an insulation layer 2, an annular coil core 3 embedded in the insulation layer 2, a coil electrode 4 wound around the periphery of the coil core 3, an input electrode 8a for external connection provided on the bottom surface of the insulation layer 2 and connected to one end of the coil electrode 4 and an output electrode 8b for external connection provided on the bottom surface of the insulation layer 2 and connected to the other end of the coil electrode 4, wherein in a planar view, one of the input electrode 8a and the output electrode 8b is positioned on the interior of the coil core 3. Due to this, in comparison to a conventional coil component in which an input electrode and an output electrode are both positioned on the exterior of a coil core, the area of the coil component 1a in a planar view can be easily minimized and the heat dissipation property improved.
