Abstract:

A communication apparatus, which can readily be adapted to enhanced user interfaces, such as a remote controller and the like, without requiring any complicated operations, comprises: a device information acquiring unit (203) for acquiring, from a device, device information thereof; a positional information acquiring unit (206) for acquiring positional information of a communication apparatus (102); an operational information acquiring unit (212) for acquiring, based on the device information, operational information; a storing unit (213) for storing the positional information and the operational information with the positional information associated, as device positional information indicating the position of the device, with the operational information; a direction sensing unit (207) for sensing directional information of the communication apparatus (102); an orientational space calculating unit (208) for calculating, based on the positional information and the directional information, an orientational space of the communication apparatus (102); a selecting unit (209a) that decides, from the device positional information, the device existing in the orientational space and that selects the operational information corresponding to the decided device; and an operational information transmitting unit (215) for transmitting a control signal for operating, based on the selected operational information, the device.
