Abstract:
Disclosed is a magnetron wherein electrical discharges are prevented from occurring outside the vacuum-sealed space within the portions of the configuration of the magnetron that are formed of a wax portion and a metalized portion. The magnetron comprises an exhaust pipe whereupon an antenna is disposed upon the vacuum-sealed interior, the exhaust pipe extending along the central axis of the antenna; an insulator tube portion that extends along the central axis of the antenna and wherein one end thereof is affixed with wax upon the exhaust pipe; and an antenna cap further comprising a bottom portion and a tube portion that is linked to the bottom portion and extends along the axis of the antenna, the diameter of the open end of the tube portion of the antenna cap having a greater diameter than the diameter of the exhaust pipe. The tube portion of the antenna cap covers both the wax portion, wherein the exhaust pipe is affixed to the insulator tube portion with wax, and the metalized portion.
