Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce communication traffic. The control unit (202) of an extension (20-24) waits for a first packet and a second packet to be received when in a state of not yet having joined a network (N1) that includes a base unit (10). The first packet is transmitted between an extension (20-24), out of the extensions (20-24) except the extension itself, which is performing a process of joining the network (N1) and the base unit (10). The second packet is transmitted between an extension (20-24), out of the extensions (20-24) except the extension itself, which has completed the process of joining the network (N1) and the base unit (10). A control unit (202) causes a communication unit (201) to transmit a beacon request when the communication unit (201) has received one of the first packet and the second packet. The control unit (202) initiates a process of joining the network when the communication unit (201) has received a beacon response to the beacon request.
