Abstract:
Provided in the present application are a communication method and a communication apparatus. In the method, a first device can indicate to a second device that the first device is in a first mode; after the second device learns that the first device is in the first mode, the second device infers that the current protocol version of the first device cannot be compatible with the current protocol version of the second device, and the second device can send protocol information to the first device; and the first device can update the protocol version on the basis of the protocol information. After learning that a first device is in a first mode, a second device can push protocol information to the first device, so as to prevent the first device from being unable to receive the protocol information and thus being unable to update a protocol version. In this way, the updated protocol version of the first device is compatible with the protocol version of the second device, such that the problem of incompatibility between the protocol versions of a first device and a second device is avoided, the user experience can be improved, and economic loss can be reduced.
