Abstract:
This component feeding apparatus comprises: a tape conveyance path that has, on the upstream side, a second conveyance path having a carrier tape traveling thereon and a first conveyance path positioned above the second conveyance path and that is configured such that the second and first conveyance paths merge with each other to guide traveling of the carrier tape toward the downstream direction; a first tape conveyance unit that positions, at a component extraction position in the tape conveyance path, the carrier tape on the tape conveyance path at the downstream side relative to the position where the second and first conveyance paths merge with each other; a tape holding unit that holds the carrier tape in at least a part of the first conveyance path; a second tape conveyance unit that conveys the carrier tape held by the tape holding unit toward the downstream direction of the tape conveyance path; and a tape holding releasing mechanism for dropping the carrier tape held by the tape holding unit onto the second conveyance path. The tape holding releasing mechanism operates by using a motive power of a driving source of the second tape conveyance unit.
