Abstract:
Provided is a composite absorber that is capable of stably exhibiting adequate absorption performance and is also capable of minimizing leakage of blood therefrom when absorbing blood. A composite absorber (4) is for use in sanitary goods for absorbing blood. The composite absorber includes: a polymeric absorbent that has a hydrophilic continuous skeleton and continuous pores; and a high water-absorptive polymer and/or pulp fibers. Regarding the polymeric absorbent, in a pore distribution which indicates the relationship between pore size and pore volume and in which the pore size is in a range of 0.003-100 μm, the maximum-volume pore size at which the proportion of pore volume becomes maximum is in a range of 1-95 μm, and the proportion of the pore volume of pores having a pore size of 7 μm or less is less than 46% of the pore volume of all pores.
