Abstract:
A conformal electronic skin, consisting of a sensing electrode portion and a functional material portion. The sensing electrode portion comprises a sensing electrode support and patterned electrodes. The functional material portion is made of an iontronic pressure sensing rubber material that can be formed by means of casting and thermal curing. The patterned electrodes are in contact with the iontronic rubber to form an ion-electrode interface, and a formed electrical double layer (EDL) capacitor is used to perform tactile sensing. Regarding the sensing electrode portion, a full-coverage sensing electrode support having an interdigitated electrode-shaped recess is designed and prepared using 3D printing technology, and then patterned electrodes are prepared by means of processes such as blade coating, drying, and conductive silver paste grinding. The functional material portion is made of an iontronic pressure sensing rubber material that can be formed by means of casting and thermal curing. In accordance with the overall three-dimensional shape of the sensing electrode portion, a corresponding functional material portion curing mold is prepared. Finally, the sensing electrode portion and the functional material portion are assembled to obtain a full-coverage conformal electronic skin.
