Abstract:
Provided are a conversion processing method for optical texture reproduction, a printed matter production method, and a printed matter production system. The conversion processing method performs LUT conversion processing in which texture characteristics information of a texture reproduction object is converted through a look-up table (LUT) into ink amount information of ink used to reproduce the texture reproduction object on a medium, wherein the texture characteristics information is divided into internal scattering information and color signal information, and the divided internal scattering information and the color signal information are used as the input for the LUT conversion processing, wherein the LUT conversion processing uses values of a modulation transfer function as the internal scattering information and the color signal information. Thus, with the conversion processing method, it is possible to simultaneously achieve reproduction of internal scattering properties and reproduction of color reproducibility, which are important texture qualities in print production for texture reproduction, with high accuracy.
