Abstract:
The present invention relates to an island converter overload limitation method and device that are applied to a bipolar flexible direct current transmission system, which relates to the field of direct current transmission. When an island operates in a steady state, two bipolar converters both employ a voltage-frequency droop control strategy; once overload is detected at a single pole converter, the control mode of the overloaded converter is automatically switched from voltage-frequency droop control to active-reactive power control so as to achieve an overload limitation function. The present method effectively solves the problems during island operation of a bipolar flexible direct current transmission system being overloaded as well as the stability of an alternating current voltage and frequency, playing a significant role in guiding the application of an island system in a direct current power grid.
