Abstract:
A yeast which is tolerant to copper and capable of incorporating copper at a high concentration into the cells; and a method of eliminating or recovering copper from an external liquid. Namely, a copper-tolerant yeast and pectinase produced thereby are provided. More particularly, a copper tolerant yeast strain Cryptococcus sp. N6 isolated from deep seabed mud and pectinase produced by this yeast.
