Abstract:
The present invention provides a coupling joint capable of suppressing generation of cracks near a friction pressure-welding surface, an automobile member, and a method for manufacturing the coupling joint. A coupling joint according to an aspect of the present invention is provided with: a first steel product that has a shaft part; a second steel product in which the amount of carbon at 0.2 mm or further inward from the surface is 0.25 mass% or more and into which the shaft part is pressure-inserted; and a friction pressure-welding surface at which the shaft part and the second steel product are joined, wherein the second steel product has a plastic deformation part which comes into contact with the friction pressure-welding surface, the plastic deformation part has a projection part that projects toward the outside of the second steel product, and the Vickers hardness of the base of the projection part measured at a surface that includes the center of the friction pressure-welding surface and that is vertical to the friction pressure-welding surface is 600 HV or less.
