A chain cover (21) for an internal combustion engine is configured to be attached to an engine body (10) and to cover a timing chain (20). The chain cover (21) includes a first member (30) formed from a hard resin material and a second member (40) formed from a material different from the hard resin material. The first member (30) is formed with the second member (40) inserted therein. A peripheral edge part (45) of an insertion hole (43) has a first bonding surface that is bonded to the first member (30). The first bonding surface includes a first bonding section having recesses in a lattice pattern, and a second bonding section having a plurality of grooves that extend along the extending direction of the peripheral edge part (45) and that are arranged side by side in an intersecting direction intersecting with the extending direction. The second bonding section is located closer to a space adjacent to the peripheral edge part (45) than the first bonding section.
