Disclosed are a cover-type electronic apparatus and a biometric data measurement method thereby. The cover-type electronic apparatus may include a cover-type housing, a set of electrodes including a plurality of electrodes arranged on the outside of the housing, and a printed circuit board electrically connected to the plurality of electrodes. A driving circuit in the printed circuit board may obtain sensing information and identify a holding posture of the user, which is one of a plurality of holding postures for measuring specified biometric data, on the basis of the sensing information. The driving circuit may identify information corresponding to a difference in contact impedance between the hands of a user from a biosignal detected by the set of electrodes, switch the connection state of the set of electrodes on the basis of the information, and measure biometric data of the user in the switched state. In addition, other various embodiments are possible.
