Abstract:
This crack detection device for detecting a crack that has formed in a structure comprises: an MI cable 7 that accommodates a conductive wire 7c within a metallic sheath 7a with an inorganic insulating material powder 7b interposed between the conductive wire 7c and the metallic sheath 7a and is provided along the structure so as to cross an expected crack C at a location where the crack is expected to form; joint parts 10, 15 that are metal and join the MI cable 7 to the structure or a member fixed to the structure by being hardened from a melted state; and a detection device 9 that is connected to both ends of the conductive wire 7c and detects an electrical characteristic of the conductive wire 7c. The joint parts 10, 15 are provided on one side and the other side of a direction crossing the expected crack C.
